Measure and record of the water level. The power plant uses a pressure probes constantly immersed in water
which periodically monitor the level of the river. The probes are placed in the upper river run i.e., before
the power plant, as well as behind the station. Observation of the level is important for two main reasons.
Firstly, it gives information when there is convenient time to run the power plant. Another important
advantage of measurement is that in case of too high water level, you will be warned about this.
The probe has a sealed casing made of stainless steel. The principle of operation of the probe uses the
relationship between the height of the liquid column located on the probe and the resulting hydrostatic
pressure. The pressure is measured at the level of the diaphragm seal and related to atmospheric pressure
through a capillary in the cable probe. Thus the pressure sensing element is a piezoresistive silicon sensor
separated from water by membrane.
